Steven, Amy and families - there really are no words to describe the friendship we shared with your mom and dad. From the day we moved in across the street from them to the day they passed, we were a part of your lives. We treasure those years and thank God for the memories. Sending our love, Sharon and Mike

We moved from Indiana in 1979 and Carol became one of my best friends We started a dinner club that she named Grub Club and today we continue it. She was a wonderful friend and I will miss her forever

I am now an old man and it is hard to imagine a future without Gene and Carol being in it. They were such a large part of our lives. Gene and I go way back, attending Bell High school together in ancient times. It was Gene who took me out to Willow Springs the first time I ever tried to play golf. Most importantly, Pam and I were in the same dinner club with Carol and Gene for over forty years. For a good part of that time we dined together every Wednesday night. So many memories, so many good times - the dress up parties, family Christmases at the old house on Pleasantview as Amy and Stephen were growing up; the trips to Possum Kingdom, the journeys to Arizona, San Antonio; so many golf outings, birthday celebrations, holiday togetherness. They are both greatly missed but have left us a fabulous legacy in Steven, Amy and their wonderful families.
I know it is Carol´s memorial but it is hard to talk about them apart as they were inseparable in life. Hardly a day goes by that I do not think of Gene and Carol and so many other dear friends who have now departed to that country in which no one returns.
Condolences to all who knew them and especially to Steven, Amy, their families; fellow members of our decades long "Grub Club" and to my good friend Granville, Gene´s brother.

"As is the generation of leaves, so is that of humanity. / The wind scatters the leaves on the ground, but the forest burgeons with leaves again in the season of spring returning. / So one generation of men will grow while another dies.
The Iliad (c. 7th century BC)
Love,
RB and Pam

I first met Carol in the Spring of 1979 when she came to NY to interview for a position at American Airlines. Talk about a duck out of water- Carol with her Texas drawl navigating New York City.
Her bubbly personality led me to hire her on the spot. We worked together for 20+ years and it was a fabulous colleague and friend.
