Carole Fazzini Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 17, 2014.
Carole B. Bowen Hill Fazzini, 81, of Donora passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was born in Donora on May 8, 1933, the daughter of Lucille and Edward Bowen and raised by her grandparents, Edith and Joseph Hill. She is survived by 10 children she loved dearly, Frank (Jean) Fazzini of Eighty Four, Sister Sue Fazzini of Waynesburg, Tom and Arllen Fazzini of Anchorage Alaska, Mary (Dave) Mucci of Monongahela, Ann Fazzini of Aurora, Colo., Elizabeth Fazzini of Donora, Paul (Anna) Fazzini of Lancaster, Michael (Gina) Fazzini of Finleyville, Barb (Jeff) Black of Charleroi, and Dan Fazzini of St. Petersburg, Fla. Also left to carry on her legacy of love are her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. She is also survived by a sister, Norma (Vince) Malena; and brothers, Charles (Mary) Wincer and Fred Bowen. Carole was a strong and wise woman who was progressive before it was fashionable to be progressive. She welcomed everyone into our home unconditionally and taught us to be inclusive of everyone. She was creative and independent and instilled those qualities in her children and grandchildren. She wove our family together as a quilt using love, laughter, tolerance and resilience. Mom you taught us to pray and prayer has been a huge factor in our success, however, your humor saved our souls!! Arrangements are being handled by the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, http://www.massafrafuneralhome.com, where friends will be received on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, from 1 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Valley Church, Donora with the Rev. Father Pierre M. Falkenhan as celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Donora Public Library….or to honor our mom buy a stranger a Frappe.
