Carole Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 29, 2025.
Carole passed away on July 30, 2019, in Inverness, Florida, after a lingering illness surrounded by her loving family. Her legacy is one of devotion to family and friends, a beautiful wife, and a nurturing mother that touched everyone she met.

Carole is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas, with whom she shared thirty-seven years together. Her memory lives on through her children and their families: Elizabeth (Dustin), John, and Rebecca (Colby). The radiant joy of Carole's spirit continues to shine in her cherished granddaughters: Abby and Kate. She is also survived by her father, Bill, and her mother, Elaine, who has since passed. Carole is also remembered by her siblings and their families: Bill (Anne), and Ann (Gary).

Born on February 2, 1955, in Tallahassee, Florida, to William "Bill" Pope Brown and Elaine Carroll, Carole spent her early childhood under the care of her grandparents, George and Henrietta Carroll of Altonah, Utah. From them she fostered a deep appreciation for their Newfoundlander Irish-speaking roots, sparking a lifelong passion for genealogy and family history. Carole's academic prowess was evident early on, as she graduated as Valedictorian from Hernando County High School. Her unwavering pursuit for knowledge led her to Brigham Young University, where she explored a multitude of interests, reflecting her boundless curiosity and commitment to invention.

In 1982, Carole married Thomas Walker Moore, embarking on a remarkable journey filled with love and cherished memories. Together, they built a life on an ancestral farm in McDonough, Georgia where Carole imparted her love for history and culture to her children, creating a home rich in tradition and learning. She was a pivotal supporter of her husband's Cambridge & York Academy and her lively orchestration of school events showcased her vibrant enthusiasm and dedication.

A true renaissance woman, Carole was an inventor and doll maker, sharing a beautifully interwoven passion for textiles with her husband's family background. Her creative spirit was boundless, and she generously shared her passions with her children during genealogical adventures to historically significant sites.

As a devoted member of the Lecanto Ward of the LDS Church, Carole found a community that uplifted her spirit, and her memory will forever be cherished. She was buried in the esteemed company of her distinguished great-great-grandparents, Rev. Sam and Sarah Scott, within the sacred grounds of Brooksville Cemetery. These sacred grounds hold the stories and legacies of those who have gone before us, and Carole's presence there serves as a testament to the enduring bonds of family and love.
