I miss you a lot Carrie Babbitt. I think about you from time to time, wishing that I could have saved your soul from passing out. But I know that you are in a better place now. Thanks again for the great hang outs & your smile. R.I.P. again. Love. Sincerely

When I read on the newspaper of your passing, I was very shocked & upset!! I felt very empathetic for your family & the mixed emotions that they must be going through? We started to develop a bit of a personal friendship over the years. You were very sweet, friendly and a gentle soul. Whenever I bumped into you at Chapters Downtown, you would always yell "What A Guy" & we would always hang out and check out some books on travel and fiction. You & I were pretty shy & quiet in high school but we learned how to connect spiritually as we aged. I would drive you home sometimes because I didn't want you to take the bus. It's a very unfortunate situation, no more Thai food Carrie. I took the time to write this to thank you for always making me smile, from afar. I pray & hope that you are safe in a better place now with the Heavens. R.I.P. I wish you weren't gone just yet & that I could have been there to save you; it still feels unreal :(. So young/precious with lots of adventures to live for. It was my pleasure to get to know the real you, before & after Lisgar.

When I heard the awful news, a memory came to mind. It was 2009 and Carrie was just 18. Mom was sick and agitated in the Civic Hospital, and we had been trying to help. Carrie arrived. I saw her leaning over her grandmother, holding her hands: so beautiful and kind. Mom finally calmed down. I'll remember Carrie's gentleness above all, but also her passions: yoga, fishing, skiing, special teas. And of course I'll never forget seeing her on stage at the Ottawa Little Theatre. That's Carrie up there, I kept marvelling. We'll miss her tremendously. She brought joy to friends and family in a short life.
