To Anne and Family,

I am sending sympathy as you remember your amazing Mum.

I will remember her always and can't fully quantify the impact her teaching had on me. After Branksome, with her encouragement, I pursued English Lit at McGill and Journaliam at Carleton, followed by a career in communications and fundraising; my writing skills, finely nurtured by Ms Roe, have always been a strength. I adored her classes; her smile, the twinkle in her eye and gentle encouragement lifted me and made me feel worthy.

May she rest in peace, knowing she left a lasting impression in the hearts and minds of so many young women.

This is a continuation of the initial message - somehow Jackie Shaver's name was omitted - and she is the best person in this collective of Dodie's Branksome pals. We have all been thinking of Dodie.

I am writing on behalf of her friends and colleagues from Branksome to say how sad it is that the world has lost her. - from Diane (Dina), Kathy Proctor, Annice Blake and Katy Waugh. She was a generous and intuitive friend.
Her former students have been in touch with each other and me to talk about that amazing Grade 13 course she developed. They seem to remember every single thing she said to them, whether relevant to the course content or to the stuff of life.
