Carolyn Aiola Edwards

Carolyn Aiola Edwards, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 2, 2018 in her home in Metairie, LA surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn is survived by her loving sons, William Edwards and David Edwards (Kim), her grandchildren, David Edwards, Timothy Edwards, and Katherine Clipp Edwards, her great-grandchildren, Liam Newman Edwards and Benjamin Edwards, and her siblings, Barbara Cozic, Elouise Leblanc, and Alden Aiola. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, William Davis Edwards, her brother, Edward Aiola, and her parents, Edward and Theresa Aiola.
Carolyn's life flowed from deep current: her love of family, her love of God, and her delight in supporting children. Whether she was acting as a preschool teacher, a Sunday school leader, or a grandmother, Carolyn let the young people in her life know how much she cherished them. In this and so many other parts of her life, she had a warm, clear sighted way of living her faith. Part of this faith, she believed, involved reaching out to and caring about people whose backgrounds were different from her own. Her strong convictions clearly served an openness toward people of every age, creed, and group. This is just one of the ways she will always be a model to those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1001 W. Esplanade Ave., Kenner, LA 70065 on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
