Carolyn Grout Obituary

Age 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, November 7, 2011. She is survived three children, Jerilyn (Jaye) Grout Franchell, James Grout and wife, Renee, and Jeanne Ann Gregg and husband, Andy; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Franchell, Jordan Grout Price and husband, Robert; James Raymond Grout II, Jean-Luc Franchell, Taylor (Bear) Grout, Ari Gregg, and Shelby Gregg; and one great-grandchild, Daniel Robert Price. She is also survived by her brother, Glenn Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chief Master Sergeant Jeremy Townsend Grout; and her brother, Norman Fisher. Carolyn was born in Bound Brook, New Jersey where she attended Montclair High School and graduated from Newton High School. She also attended Essex County Adult Technical School where she received an Associates Degree in Dental Services. Carolyn was married in 1952 at the Union Congregational Church in upper Montclair, New Jersey. She enjoyed traveling and lived for three years in Germany with her husband and children. Carolyn was known as Mimi to all of her grandchildren and friends later in life. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and antiquing. Mimi thoroughly enjoyed anything to do with family history, as well as the study of the ancient world. She was an avid reader, especially of mystery novels. Mimi enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson. Services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Hope in Christ Church, 1605 Juan Tabo NE Suite R.
