Carolyn Hansel

Carolyn Hansel MERRILLVILLE- IN-Carolyn Hansel, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2017 at her residence, with her loving family at her side. Carolyn was born December 2, 1938 in Sullivan, IN to the late Dean and Lena Layton. Also preceding her in death are her husband, Richard; grandson, Brandon. Survivors are her children: Greg (Cyndi), Chris, Kevin, Alicia; grandchildren: Chris, Bryan, and Justin; two great granddaughters; sister, Liz Masnick. Carolyn was a purchaser and administrative staff for Scheffer Inc. in Merrillville for over 30 years. She was a nature lover, enjoyed being outdoors and her gardens. She was a selfless caregiver for her family, a loving and devoted mother, and grandmother. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME (8178 Cline Ave. Schererville, IN 46375). Funeral services will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
