Carolyn Potter Obituary
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan Cobey Potter, their two cherished children, Fiona (Age 7), Isla (Age 2), and their dog, Kuma. She is also survived by her father, Fred Mertes and Mo Dorsey; her sister-in-law Erin Hodgson and her family, Kent, Maxwell (nephew), and Penelope (niece and goddaughter); as well as many beloved cousins.
Carolyn was born and raised in Cleveland, OH, and graduated from Olmsted Falls High School. She earned an Industrial and Systems Engineering Degree from Virginia Tech. After working in Greensboro, NC, she made her way back to Virginia to ultimately work as a Senior Manager for Deloitte. Carolyn and Cobey married in 2014 and resided in Mount Vernon, VA with their two beautiful girls, Fiona and Isla. Being a Mom was her greatest joy in life. Carolyn and Cobey also cultivated a broad group of close friends from college, work and their community.
Carolyn and Cobey's life together was happy and full, and she will be forever loved and missed by all the people whose lives she touched.
Funeral Services will be conducted at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (8710 Mount Vernon Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22309) on May 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a short reception (location TBD). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Myositis Association (https://www.myositis.org/donate).

We were so sorry to hear of Carolyn´s passing. We were longtime neighbors of Carolyn´s family as she was growing up in Olmsted Falls. Fred and Bev were the ideal neighbors that everyone would love to have living next door and there were many laughs over a beer while the kids play together.
