Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 18, 2005.
Carrol Turner "C.T." Pruitt/ Carrol Turner "C.T." Pruitt born May 10, 1921, passed into his heavenly home on October 15, 2005, at age 84. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, Seabees division, during World War II. He was raised a master mason on May 29, 1957 and was a member in good standing, with Park Place Lodge, Houston, until his death. He was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 38 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Nacogdoches to the 148 acres into which he poured his blood, sweat and love. He and wife, Betty Peacock Pruitt, cared for his parents, the Rev. J.B. Pruitt and Dollie Whitton Pruitt, until their deaths. After Betty¹s passing in 1998, C.T. moved to Magnolia, Texas, to live with his daughter, Rhonda, and her husband, Bob, in 2004. Left to cherish his memory, are his adoring daughter, Rhonda Muirhead and her husband, Dr. Bob "Bullit"; daughter, "Carol Ann" Phoenix Starblanket, Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters, Lela Trawick, Beaumont and Christine Battles, Dallas; grandchildren, Angela Ditta of San Antonio, Jude Stovall of Austin and Tamara Bowden of Nacogdoches; four great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends. The family will receive friends at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home, Nacogdoches, Texas. on Tuesday, October 18, 2005, from 5:30 until 8 p.m. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Masonic graveside services will follow at Lone Star Cemetery. I (Rhonda) would especially like to thank Houston Hospice, Doris, Chaplain Jim, Patsy, Mary, Alvie and Barbara for their kindness and support during this time. In addition, my gratitude is extended to Ms. Myrtle, Annanisa, Shelia and Flora of Professional Caretakers Inc. and all others who were so kind and gentle with Daddy. Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,

I am the swift, uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there, I do not sleep.

(Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there, I did not die!

daddy, you are always with me.....
