Carroll Learnard
Carroll Learnard age 88, of Monroe, journeyed back to the Lord on August 23, 2021.
He is predeceased by his daughter Janice Ludwig. He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia, his son Glenn and grandchildren Britley, Krissalee, Sarah and Michael and Son in-law Mark Ludwig
He was born in Caribou, Maine and was raised in Van Buren Maine with his 10 siblings. He was a Korean War Veteran and trained to be a mechanic on the GI bill.
Carroll moved to Connecticut in 1958 to provide a better life for his new family. He initially worked for Bridgeport Metal Goods. He used his mechanical skills to land jobs at automotive garages, UPS and Bullards Machine Co. He eventually transitioned to servicing heavy equipment for several construction companies over the years. He retired at age 78, but never stopped tinkering. He was sought out for his ingenuity in fix things, his mechanical skills and his inventions. His passion was refurbishing metal working equipment, inventing new contraptions, attending tractor shows and rebuilding antique tractors.
Friends are invited to a Christian mass at Saint Jude Parish, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe on Saturday, Sept. 11th at 10:30am

Our deepest sympathies to my Favorite Aunt Mickey, My Cousin Glenn & His Family, and Mark Ludwig my Cousin Janice's Husband, and all Uncle Carroll's beautiful grandchildren, and friends and former co-workers, It is our wishes and prayers to all that God keep you all in His Loving Arms during these difficult times. Know too that we are thinking and praying for all of you. My beautiful Uncle Carroll leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories for all who knew Him, We will miss you greatly, thank you for the priceless gift of you, and we will see you again someday soon, May You forever Rest In Peace in the loving arms of your Creator.
