Obituary

Carroll L. Simonson, 101, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, March, 1, 2005 in 4000 Valley Square, Woodside Village. Carroll Louise Taylor was born to Frederick James and Blanche (Morgan) Taylor on August 31, 1903 at Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up and attended school at Sioux City, and graduated from high school there. She attended Morningside College, and later at Rockford, Illinois. Carroll and Arch Simonson were married on April 9, 1924 at Sioux City, Iowa. They lived at St. Paul, Minnesota, and moved to Grand Forks in 1933 where they have resided ever since. Arch Simonson died in 1941. Carroll enjoyed golf, bridge, and traveling all over the world. Her favorite thing was to watch the sunsets on Lake Bemidji, Minnesota. She was a member of P.E.O. Survivors include: Sons, Peter (Marilyn) Simonson, Marco Island, Florida, and John Simonson, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Suzanne Simonson, Barnesville, Minnesota, J. Scott (Allyson) Simonson, Fargo, North Dakota, Arch (Mary) Simonson, Grand Forks, Steven (Lisa) Simonson, Grand Forks, Peter D. (Pamela) Simonson, Fargo, North Dakota, Richard (Vicki) Simonson, Fargo, North Dakota, Kimberly (Thomas) Skaro, Grand Forks; 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Morgan Taylor and Warner Taylor. Memorial Services: will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2005 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 319 S. 5th St., Grand Forks, North Dakota. Interment: will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials: in lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorials be designated to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Grand Forks.
