Cary Hart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 30, 2023.
Cary Steven Hart, 62, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, passed away on June 27, 2023. He was born on October 7, 1960, in New York, NY, to the late Donald and Rita Hart.

Cary was a beloved member of the community and will be remembered for his warm and sociable nature. He had a magnetic personality that drew people in, and his charming demeanor left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A dedicated father, Cary instilled his love for life in his children, Ross and Erica Hart. He is also survived by his siblings, Brenda Appelbaum and Douglas Hart, along with their spouses, Todd Appelbaum and Wendy Hart. Cary will be dearly missed by his niece and nephews, Rachel, Jared, and Matthew Appelbaum, as well as Daniel and Zachary Hart. He is also survived by his fiancée, Robin Chapman, and his former wife, April Hart.

Cary received his education at East Meadow High School before furthering his studies at the University of Florida, Gainesville.

Following his education, Cary embarked on a successful career that began with the opening of Aw Shucks, an oyster bar in Gainesville, Florida. Recognizing the potential in the growing resort town of Ponte Vedra Beach, Cary opened a larger version of Aw Shucks in 1988. As the sole owner, he transformed the establishment into Aqua Grill, a renowned and cherished dining destination. Cary's commitment to excellence and his genuine connection with his patrons made Aqua Grill a beloved institution in town. His engaging personality attracted both local residents and national celebrities, who enjoyed his warm hospitality.

Cary had a passion for travel, fine dining, cooking, swimming laps and playing golf. He found joy in exploring new destinations, savoring delicious meals, and spending leisurely hours on the golf course. He particularly cherished the simple and flavorful ethnic and Jewish food from his youth.

Cary was closely connected with Chabad at the Beaches in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where he found friendship and spiritual nourishment.

Cary Hart's presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.
