Caryl Golland

Golland, Caryl 90 Mar. 15, 1925 Feb. 10, 2016 Caryl Golland died peacefully Feb. 10, 2016, in Portland. She was 90. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., graduated from Brooklyn College and with her quick wit and scrappy confidence, remained a New Yorker to the core. She raised her family in Los Angeles, earned her M.S. at the University of Southern California and worked as a reference librarian for Los Angeles County. She relocated to Portland two years ago. She is survived by her daughters, Judith Sleavin and Risa Graves; grandchildren, Sara Geary, and Austin and Simon Graves; and great-grandchildren, Danny and Charlie Geary. Her husbands, Stanley Roy Hershman, Victor Shulman and Larry Golland; and grandchildren, Ben- jamin and Annie Rose Sleavin, predeceased her. A service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at the home of Judith Sleavin. Memorial donations may be given to Providence Hospice of Portland.
