Caryl Zimmer

Lebanon Caryl A. Zimmer, 89 of Glouster passed away Friday February 24, 2023, in Lebanon TN. Born February 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Anna Cunningham of Glouster, OH. Caryl was a beautiful soul who always had a smile to share that would light up the world. She loved to sing, entertain, and paint pictures. She was the kind of woman that to know her was to love her. She was always the life of the party. She loved dressing up, putting in her "funny" teeth and making you laugh. She was also a homemaker, worked at school as a librarian and an in school suspension and media monitor, and most importantly, she was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. In her small town of Glouster, OH, she had many friends whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by a daughter, Loann (Duane) Dursma of Lebanon, TN; two sons, Mitch (Julie) Zimmer of Walhonding, OH and Chris (Tera) Zimmer of Oak Harbor, OH; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Kelly, Madison, Samantha, Stephan, Grayson, and Clase; and seven great grandchildren, Lily, Maddy, Nolan, Nora, Archer, Kyleigh, and Kinley.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles B. "Chuck" Zimmer; a brother, Don (Mary) Cunningham; and four sisters, Mary B. (Dick) Allison, Betty (Ed) Hardin, Ione (Charlie) Clark, and Mona (Max) Morris.

Caryl's wishes were to be cremated and placed alongside her husband. A celebration of life will be held for both Caryl and Chuck at 12 p.m. on Saturday April 1, 2023 at the Glouster Church of Christ, 32 Fairlawn Ave., Glouster, OH 45732 with Jerry Marang officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. A graveside will take place following the memorial at the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster where there will be a Military Graveside Service conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.
