Catera Light Obituary
Catera was an enthusiastic honor student at Peabody Middle School where she was a cheerleader. She enjoyed playing softball, singing, and dancing.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age at the Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a praise dancer, involved in the youth choir, and a Sunday school helper.
In addition, Catera had numerous amounts of love and companionship from her many cousins. She was loved and cherished by an abundant amount of friends who will truly miss her. Catera lived up to her last name "Light," she touched so many lives with her beautiful smile and her charismatic personality.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Vivian Buford.
She is survived by her mother, Pamela Prosise and stepfather, Gregory Prosise; father, Gregory Jerome Light; sister, Dominique Colbert (Sam); brothers and stepbrothers, Setorius Belle, Marquise Light, Gregory Light Jr., Curtis Blow, Cordez Blow and Gregory Prosise Jr.; nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, Samuel I. Humphrey III, Jemia Light, Javon Coleman and Trevon Coleman. Catera was adored by many devoted aunts, Michelle Williams of Petersburg, Va., Benita Abbey of Chesterfield, Va., Darcy Colbert and Dawn Thorpe (Mike), both of Ettrick, Va; one uncle, Terry Taylor (Christy) of Petersburg, Va.; devoted grandparents, Barbara Jones of Ettrick, Va., Lena Hopson (David) of Richmond, Va., and Floyd Taylor (Teresa) of McKenney, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 418 Halifax St., Petersburg, the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in the Blandford Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 633 Oakwood Circle, Petersburg, Va., and may be contacted by calling (804) 863-2949 or (804) 721-3135.

Catera you were truly the best camper a counselor could have. You always kept a smile on your face and was full of energy.
