Columbus - Catherine "Cathy" Burt, 86, of Columbus, Ohio peacefully passed away at her home on March 27th, 2024. She was born in Columbus to the late Johnnie and Annie Tipton on December 17th, 1937.

Cathy was a longtime employee of Columbia Gas, retiring as an Administrative Assistant to the CEO. She was especially proud to be a North High School graduate and regularly attended their July 4th alumni gatherings. Both Cathy and her husband Willis were North High graduates. Cathy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Willis C. Burt, sister Beulah Carver, brother Harold Tipton, nephew Dale Carver, sister-in-law Dorothy Tipton and brother-in-law Lawrence Burt. Cathy is survived by her brother Calvin Tipton, nieces Brenda Granger, Abby (Mike) Hendershot and Cheryl Bush; nephews Craig (Tami) Carver, Kirby Burt, Brady (Ann) Burt, and John (Karen) Tipton, great nephew Joe (Laura) Carver and great niece Ashlee (Donny) Houck.

Cathy is also survived by special friends, Shelley Graf, Craig Campbell, Pat Campbell, Nancy Henry, Schelley Pierce, and many friends from the TBDBITL Alumni Club.

Cathy was an avid Buckeye fan and held season tickets for many years. She was recognized for her contributions to TBDBITL and was made an Honorary Member. She traveled with the Alumni Band to Germany, Alaska, Hawaii, and took part in countless band trips throughout the country.

Cathy's talents included organization, dependability, and thoroughness. She could always be counted on to do the right thing. She was a very caring person which she showed by having a knack for remembering others and their family members.

She was a member of Bethel International United Methodist Church, a proud member of The Ohio State University President's club, Script Ohio club, and The Ohio State University Alumni Association.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the TBDBITL Scholarship Fund #607138 at Script Ohio Club, P. O. Box 14769, Columbus, OH 43214. Make check payable to The Ohio State University. Donations may also be sent to the Bethel International United Methodist Church at 1220 Bethel Road, Columbus, OH 43220. Arrangements by O. R. Woodyard Co., 1346 South High St., Columbus.
