Catherine CASTELLANO Obituary
Mary (Pumilio) passed away peacefully at the age of 97, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Dec. 18, 1921 to Calogero and Accursia Pumilio in Hackensack, New Jersey. Catherine, affectionately known as "Nana", was cherished and loved by all who knew her. Her joy was helping others and her endless energy lasted for decades. At the age of 96, she worked full-time with her daughter at the beauty shop taking special care of the clients. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband of 46 years, Sam Castellano, Sr. Forever and lovingly remembered by sons, Sam Jr. and Frank (Shirley); twin daughters, Carol (Albert) Leon and Charlotte; five grandchildren, Michael (Sally), Chris (Diane), Catherine, Adam, and Jonathan (Tina) and six great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 am-12 noon at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue. The funeral will follow at noon and the interment will be at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. OH, I am heartbroken. My Sunday afternoon shopping at Publix will never be the same. I would meet up with Ms. Castellano and we would always have such wonderful conservations, Her family was the most important thing in her life, She was an inspiration to everyone she met,
I will always cherish those conservations. Heaven has truly gained another beautiful angel.
