Catherine Downes Obituary
She was born Oct. 16, 1967, in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of James and Joan (Poreber) Downes.
Cathy leaves behind the loves of her life, her sons, Vinnie Nilo and Cody Bruneau. She also leaves a big family who truly loved her, her mother, Joan P. Downes; her father, James Downes; sisters Tammy Hewey, Donna Spaulding, Kelly Giresi-Downes and Sandra Handley; her godmother and aunt, Gloria Lutjen; the man she loved, Robert Paine; several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins; and a friend and ex-husband, Vincent Nilo. Cathy was loved by many. She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up any room. She will be in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to benefit Cathy's boys, c/o Edmund H. Lewis, P.O. Box 135, West Farmington, ME 04992.
