Catherine Everett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 19, 2023.
With sadness, the family announces the death of Catherine Jayne (Adam) Everett
(1952-2023), who passed away under the care of the Palliative Care Team at the
Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, ON, on Friday, Jan 6th, 2023.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Mollie (Hornsby) Adam and older
brother, Brian Adam (Maureen). She is survived by her partner, Martin Liegis; son,
Cameron Everett; daughter, Lesley White (Rob); and sister, Judithe Adam-Murphy
(Greg) and extended family members.
Cathy leaves a legacy of a woman who worked tirelessly in the nutritional and
health care fields. It was in the health care field where she excelled, due to her
ability to relate to people in need. Having worked as a nursing team member in
addictions, at the Homewood Health Care Centre, Guelph, for just over 30 years,
she brought insight, a quick wit, sense of humour and a set of expressive eyes,
that was appreciated by both staff and patients.
She also leaves behind a footprint of a mother who nurtured her children
throughout their lives, offering her unwavering love and support, as well as a
young step grand-daughter, in whom she delighted. She will also be remembered
as an animal lover; always having a pet since childhood.
As Cathy's family, we give thanks to the many health care professionals who over
the years, worked to give her the best quality of life, while she fought the battles
of illness. With grateful hearts, we also thank her many friends who have become
our friends as well.
Cremation has taken place and according to Cathy's wishes, there will not be a
formal goodbye for her. Instead, she wanted all of us to look ahead to a time
when she will be waiting to greet us with open arms and a big smile of welcome.
In Cathy's memory, a donation may be made to Kidney Foundation of Canada -
London and District Chapter or an animal rescue of your choice.

She was my lifelong friend and I am so sorry that I will not get a chance to see her, hug or laugh with her again in this lifetime

We are so sorry to hear of Cathy´s passing. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Bob and I have so many wonderful memories of Cathy. As teenagers we worked together at the Brockville Ontario Shopping Centre in the hardware and pet department. Bob took Math classes with Cathy. We all moved away but always kept in contact no matter what. I am now in Vancouver and we talked and texted lots. We feel so lucky that Cathy was a huge part of our lives. Cathy was so kind, loving and had such a wonderful sense of humour. Cathy never complained and made the best of the worst situations thrown at her. She touched our lives forever which spanned from 17 years of age until now- a true friendship which I will always cherish.

Love Linda (Shaw) and Bob Whitcroft

Our deepest condolences, we remember Cathy fondly as our good neighbour and friend on Grove St. I actually encouraged Cathy to apply at Homewood and was so happy to see her enjoy her work and colleagues there. Cathy was a loving mother and hard worker. RIP Cathy

As a newcomer to work homewood , cathy was an incredible mentor: always there for any question and support over 26yrs. Her humour and love for animals that was like no other and matched mine ( work in rescue ) so that when she was looking for a new furry friend to welcome she knew who to ask. Having her newest addition Bodhi brought her such comfort and joy and that he was a fixture always to be found on her lap or close by.
I will miss out chats when I visited and chats about our furry ones.
The sky is that much brighter with her up above. Forever missed. Condolences to family and friends.
