I gave her a handmade sensory bottle that included sparkly items and objects like books and plastic bible. She smiled, hugged it and then began to cry; she was so happy with the gift.

I am writing this with a heavy heart and full of tears. I started working at Northwestern University in the Fall 1970´s. My first promotion was in the Circulation Department with Catherine Feeney being my supervisor. We worked together for many years. Soft spoken and fast but walker, she was a wonderful person. Every Christmas I would ask her for her shortbread cookie recipe. Well after asking so many times I guess she felt sorry cause my cookies would not come out like hers, so she made them for me. After many years I got to know the whole family. Catherine, George and Adrianne, what a beautiful family.
I will miss you Catherine so much. RIH and remember you are loved by so man. My prayers to you Adrianne.

I worked in the Library Personnel Office before she retired. What comes to mind about Catherine is her beautiful smile, like the one in her pucture, and her soft spoken ways.
My condolences to Catherine's family.

I had the great joy of working with Catherine in the Circulation department of the Northwestern University Library from 1979 until her retirement. She was always positive and had a wicked sense of humor. She brightened up everyone's day. I know that's the kind of thing people write under these circumstances, but with Catherine it was true. I always felt I had an ally in Catherine. I'd occasionally see her with George at a university function. but I didn't ever get to know him. I know they loved getting away to their place near Aspen, Colorado, their home away from home. As these things sometimes go, I was just thinking fondly of Catherine yesterday before getting this sad news today. You will be missed, Catherine. You were one of the good ones.

I knew Catherine when we both worked at the Northwestern University Library in Evanston in the 1970's. Catherine had a wonderful sense of humor and I enjoyed chatting with her at the Circulation desk. When I first met her she had long red hair that came down her back. Once she decided to cut her hair she never went back to haivng long hair. A lovely person that will be missed. -- Vince McCoy
