Cathie and I were connected through our oncologist, Dr Jasani. I had asked him if there was someone he´d recommend I could talk to one-on-one, not a group, about pancreatic cancer and my feelings. Someone who could relate. He didn´t hesitate and mentioned Cathie´s name. She called me within hours. I will always be greatful to Dr Jasani for putting us together. Not only was Cathie a confidant, she became my beautiful friend and hero. She gave me strength and hope just seeing how she fought and managed her battle with cancer. Although we only have known each other since 2018, I felt like Cathie and I shared a special life long bond. I will miss my friend and be forever thankful for Cathie´s friendship and love.

To the most calm, warm and caring college roommate ever!! We were young and full of life and certainly never gave thought that this day would come when we say our last goodbyes! You will be present in our hearts and minds forever. So, a heart felt farewell to our dear courageous friend and "sister". May you rest in peace, Gail Poirrier and Sandy Davis

May God's love and comfort surround you as you adjust to life without Queenie. Her fight against Pancreatic cancer gave us tremendous hope when our family was struck with the same diagnosis. I remember our time together under the Oak trees at UMHB family weekend last year. She was so tender as I talked about my mother's journey with ALS. Catherine definitely enjoyed every moment she could with Calyn and Shea.
Love you all,
Abbie Wylie

I was a beneficiary of Cathie's friendship and kindness. My world was a better world with Cathie in it.

Cathie was smart, kind, funny, generous and elegant. I first met her when I volunteered for PANcan Houston in 2012. From that day until she passed, Cathie was a pancreatic cancer survivor on a mission to end this wicked disease as well as our affilate "den mother," supporting our efforts, cheering us on, and rolling up her sleeves to produce PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Her grace, beauty and spirit will live forever in the hearts of those of us lucky enough to have known her.

I still can´t believe she is no longer with us. Cathie was such an amazing woman. I have such fond memories of her from my time with PANCAN. She was ALWAYS there to help. She volunteered so much of her time to the cause and helped countless people who also battled pancreatic cancer. She was truly an angel on earth.

Cathy was just a treasure. She was kind, thoughtful and caring and dearly loved Randy and her family. I am blessed beyond words to have had her as a friend and I will deeply miss her.

Catherine was courageous and faith filled throughout her long battle with cancer. She never stopped smiling or finding ways to make the most of each day she had. She was blessed to have had Randy as her dedicated caregiver and coordinator of all her appointments and treatments. Both Catherine and Randy have served as inspirations for others dealing with serious health issues. Despite their own challenges, they have always made themselves available to help others in any way they could. Catherine had cancer, as my husband once said of himself, but cancer never had her. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
