Dear Mom,

I miss you so much and my heart aches for your voice telling everything is going to be alright. I believe you helped Nick when he fell 4 stories to the ground you must have cushioned his fall. Please stay by his side until he is able to stand and walk on his own. At first I was worried I couldnt sense you surrounding me with your love but now I know you never left my side and that you are my son's guardian angel. I hope you are free from pain and your heaven is a beautiful place... Peace to you mom, with love...your daughter Susan

It has been so hard to deal with the loss of you. I miss you more and more each day. I will think of something that I know you will like, or find funny, and realize that I can't phone you and tell you about it. I know that you are always with all of us, but its hard not being able to hear you from day to day or even see you. I love you so much and it is still hard for me to come to terms with the fact that you are not phisically here. I love you and miss you.

We wish you well on your continuing journey. The memories of our friendship with you and Derek beginning when we first met while working at the Arbutis Club will always remain with us. You made the world a brighter place and laughter came so easy to you and for this we thank you. God speed.

We enjoyed meeting Kathy at the lake, and when we got to know her better we really liked what she stood for and how Kathy dealt with her health issues. We will miss you, Kathy, and the lake will not be quite the same without you.

Dear Gramma, Although this has been one of the hardest things i have ever had to deal with, in a way it has been a blessing. You have inspired me to be a better person and for that i will forever be greatful. You are my gaudian angel and you will always be alive in our hearts. I now know that you are in heaven with god and that gives me great comfort. Even though i didnt always show it or tell you i love you. Your passing has shown me more things that i can't even begin to explain. Your service was beautiful and you would be so proud of the courage everyone showed...even Grandpa was strong enough to share some words with all of us. If it wasn't for your loving spirit being with me i would never have been able to say all the things i wanted and needed to say. Your love, kindness, and caring nature will stay with us and help guide us through the hard times we all have to face. Thank you Gramma for showing me the person i am now aspiring to be. I am forever greatful. I love u with all my heart. You will always be my Gramma and even though one day when i have kids they may not have been able to meet you, i will teach them everything you taught me..including not to go down the stairs on their bums:) Your in a better place now.. and you will be there to help guide me to heaven when it comes my time. I love you

Love Always and forever

Although we only met a couple of times it was obvious that you were a fun-loving person with a heart of gold, who loved her family more than anything in the world. The pride you had for all your children, grand children and Derick was a pleasure to see. You made a wonderful life in Canada, one to be envied, and you will be sadly missed by everyone that ever knew you, including us all from Derby.

Rest in peace.

In remembering Cathy, through shared days back at RGI, what comes to mind first were the impromtu window skits out in the store...very British, tongue in cheek ending with howling laughter by Cathy and her co-workers.

And at the end of her workday announcing "My day is done".

To her family, sincere condolences. She will be missed.

Dear Cathy,

Watch over us and keep us safe. The struggle was difficult but you were a fighter. We will miss your silly wit, and the waves goodbye from the window. You will forever be in that window watching us. Your royal wave the last thing we see. I will miss you. Love Janice

Although I didn't know you personally Cathy, I know your granddaughter, Elise, and through her I can feel the love that is shared between you and your family. I can also share the pain of losing a loved one because I lost my mom 2 years ago and still, the tears come often. Losing someone who holds such a huge part of our hearts can sometimes feel very lonely, no matter how much love and support you are surrounded with. The space that you filled Cathy, is empty now, but your family and friends' hearts are just that much fuller now because you occupy that space. As I said to Elise, and will also say to your husband, and the rest of your family, you will never stop being missed, but that is a good thing because it means you will always be alive. You will always share in everything they see and do, because you were the start of it all. You were your family's primary relationship and their foundation. So, to the family and friends and everyone you have touched in your life, ride out this tough time and soon you will be able to embrace the happy memories that made your family what it is. Everyone loved you very much Cathy. Elise has made that very clear and I am only an onlooker from the sidelines. To the family - coast with the waves of this experience knowing there will be great highs and lows, but Cathy's love for you, and yours for her will help to get you through it.

It's hard to imagine that she has passed. She was a loved person. Her sarcastic remarks made me smile. I don't ever remember her being in a bad mood. She would smile all the time. She was the type that would express her opinion to everyone. We all had to know what she thought. I respected her for that, and still do. My grandma was a very smart person, whom I looked upto. The struggles she had to overcome enspire me to be strong. She will never be forgotten. I wish all my love to my family and I send my strength to my grandpa. I love you all, and we will get through this together.
