Catherine "Nanny" Whitesides

Mrs. Catherine "Nanny" Hildebran Whitesides, 87, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Burke Long Term Care, following a period of declining health. Catherine was born on April 21, 1935 in Burke County to the late Dirl Hildebran and Jessie Taylor Hildebran. She was a retired supervisor with Family Dollar and a member of Shoup's Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Franklin "Till" Whitesides, four sisters: Gertrude Young, Mae Fannie Lowman, Sallie Hildebran, and Betty Jaquins, and one brother, Theodore Hildebran. Survivors include her daughter, Polly Whitesides Shook and husband Ron of Connelly Springs, one grandson, Christopher Joe Lundsford II and wife Valerie of Allentown, PA and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Noah. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Marty Bess officiating. Interment will follow at Shoup's Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
