CREEKSIDE, Penn. -- Cathleen "Cathy" Armstrong-Resh, 55, of Creekside, Penn., died suddenly Sunday, October 14, 2007, at the Conemaugh Valley Hospital.
The daughter of Malcolm M. and Theodora Thomas Armstrong, she was born March 13, 1952, in Plattsburgh.
A 1974 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Cathy was the executive director for the Housing Alliance of Indiana County.
She loved tending to her expansive flower gardens, visiting with friends and family, traveling and occasionally rocking to the Beatles. She took pride in her Celtic Heritage. Among her many interests were genealogy and early American History.
Surviving is her mother, Theodora Armstrong, of Johnsonburg; husband and best friend, James Resh, whom she wed May 22, 1992; sons, Ian Bonnet (Laura) and Reed Bonnet; sister, Amy Provias (Dan) all of Pa.; brothers, Jeffrey Armstrong (Carole) and Thomas Armstrong of Calif.; nieces, Iva and Eleanor Provias; and nephew, Jacob Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm.
Family and friends were invited to a Celebration of her life on Thursday, Oct. 18. A Memorial Service followed with Assistant Chaplain Jack Carrier, officiating. Principal speakers were Ian, Laura and Reed Bonnet, Amy Provias and James Resh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, for the Preservation of Wilderness Areas, 800 Water Front Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
