It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of CeCedrick Rodney Scott, age 66, of Melbourne, FL. CeCedrick passed away peacefully at Holmes Hospital on December 26, 2024.

CeCedrick was born on January 15, 1958 in New Bern, NC to James Banks and Gracie Mae Scott Banks. He graduated from New Bern High School in 1976 and continued his education at North Carolina Central University. CeCedrick proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 26 years in Bioenvironmental Engineering. He served as the coach of the men's varsity basketball team at Brooks Air Force Base, a role that reflected his leadership, dedication, and love for the game. CeCedrick retired as a Master Sergeant, MSgt, E-7 with honor.

After his military career, CeCedrick embarked on a new career as a Customer Programs Manager for Chemical Management Systems at Leonardo DRS. He managed all chemicals used in their production processes.

He was a man of strong values, deeply committed to his family and community. Known for his kindness and love, he was truly one of the most compassionate individuals one could ever meet.

A devoted father and family man, CeCedrick was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers Tony Smith Scott and Baron Scott. He leaves behind his sisters Shenetta Scott of Middletown, PA and Acquanette Pruden of Raleigh, NC and brother, Gerald Scott of New York, NY. He's survived by his children Cedrika Francisco of Raleigh, NC, Adrienne Jones of Charlotte, NC, Ciera Scott of Las Vegas, NV, Demetrius Scott of Tallahassee, FL and Jeremy Scott of Panama City, Panama, who will forever cherish his guidance and love. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Ceron, Camren, Jeffrey, Cameron, Bryson, one great-granddaughter, Nile and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

CeCedrick will be remembered for his remarkable gift for storytelling, his sharp sense of humor, and his passion for painting, traveling, music, cooking, basketball, and golfing. He had a profound love for his hometown of New Bern and cherished his friendships deeply. Each Memorial Day weekend, he looked forward to hosting his beloved annual white party there.

Final arrangements for a celebration of life are being made to honor CeCedrick. Details regarding the date, time, and location will be shared soon. We deeply appreciate your patience and support during this time as we come together to celebrate his incredible life and cherished memories.

He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
