Cecile Gorno Obituary
Wyandotte - Gorno, Cecile Renaud (nee Cecilia Hedwig Renaud), age 101, lifelong resident of Wyandotte, Michigan peacefully passed away the morning of January 16, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois. Beloved wife of 77 years of the late Joseph A. Gorno, Sr. Loving mother of Richard (Angela) of San Clemente, CA; Mary Louise of Chicago, IL; Teresa Anne Gorno-Reid (William Reid) of Naperville, IL; and the late Joseph Anthony, Jr. (Billie) Gorno. Survived by cherished twin sister Juliette Becigneul, dear youngest sister Gloria (Alvin) Drouillard and beloved daughter-in-law Beverly M. Gorno. Predeceased by siblings Irene (Harry) Spearing, Norma (Jerry) Hoy, Marceline (Robert) Webster, and Armand (Madeleine) Renaud. Adored grandmother of Renee (John) Gilhooly, Lorri (Randy Dean), Lisa (Kevin Williams), and Brittany Gorno; Evangeline Anne, Alice Cecilia and Grace Reid. She was blessed with 11 great grandchildren and a large number of dear nieces and nephews. Her children and family were her greatest joy and she forever remained a patient teacher at heart. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church of Saint Vincent Pallotti Parish, 135 Superior Boulevard, Wyandotte, Michigan 48192. Visitation precedes funeral mass at 9:45 a.m. at Saint Patrick's Church with burial at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown, Michigan. www.martenson.com

Once upon a time many, many years ago I believe your mother let me take you out on a date so I know what a truly trusting person she was. I attended a Gabriel Richard Leadership Class with Mrs. Gorno approximately 60 years ago. Despite our 20-year age difference, she left me with a lasting impression of her warmth and kindness and I never forgot her. My condolence to all of her family.

My dear Godmother, Aunt Cis, was always such a presence in my life. I will never forget her loving voice, sweet smile and endearing laugh. The memory of the twins (Mom (Julie) and Aunt Cis together, will always be etched in my mind and in my heart. The bond they shared, their love of family and above all, their faith, is very profound. I will love you always, Aunt Cis.

I loved Aunt Cis. She was such a lady. She was always well dressed, so approachable and so very thoughtful. When I opened my business in Wyandotte, she was right there to offer any support she could give me. I also admired her deep Catholic faith. I'm thankful to have known her.
