Cecilia Scher

Mass of Christian Burial for Cecilia Scher, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange, will be 1 p.m. Monday, September 17, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach. The family will be receiving friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, September 16, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach. The interment will be at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, immediately following the service. Mrs. Scher was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she lived until she moved to the Ormond Beach area in 1990. Mrs. Scher was a homemaker. She is survived by her four loving daughters, Carol Read, Ormond Beach, Debbie (Mike) Oleksa, Ormond Beach, Joyce (Andy) Bury, Ormond Beach and Joann (Danny) Kujawa, Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, Thomas Bach, Long Island, N.Y.; three sisters, Mary Woraschek, Long Island, N.Y., Joan Montanino, Ormond Beach, and Delores Bach, Long Island, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
