Cedric D. Crawford, Sr., age 50, son of the late Helen Crawford Evans and David Wise, Sr., was born on June 19, 1959, in Wilmington, Delaware and departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at his residence. Cedric received his early education in the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware. While attending Howard High School, Cedric received letter in Track and Field and was also an All State in Football. He went on to play in the Blue and Gold games. Upon graduation, he received his degree in carpentry. Cedric was an all around sportsman; he loved bowling, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed going to the movies and loved to draw and travel. But most of all, he loved people; everyone he came in contact with, he befriended. He was employed by Veolia Water for over 20 years until his passing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Helen C. Evans. He leaves to cherish his memories, 3 daughters, LaShanda Valle (Joel), Bhria and Leora Daniels; 4 sons, Cedric, Jr., Lyle and Marcus Crawford, and JaQuanne Daniels; his father, David Wise, Sr.; 3 granddaughters, Kayla Valle, Alayna Valle and Layla Crawford; 3 brothers, Derek Crawford (Deborah), Vernon Evans (Kimberley), and David Wise, Jr.; 6 sisters, Trina Evans, Pamela Wise-Bowen, Portia Wise, Antoinette Wise, Alice Fleming, and Belinda Sampson (Fred); a very special friend, Karen (Cookie) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral is scheduled for 11 am, Tuesday, October 6, at Mother Church Of God In Christ, 27th & Market Streets where viewing will be from 10-10:45 am only. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
