Celeste Maria "Cat" Augustine

Celeste Maria Augustine (Barrera), affectionately known as Cat, passed away on August 17, 2024, in Buckeye, Arizona, at the age of 49. Born on May 14, 1975, in Phoenix, Arizona, Celeste was a spirited and vibrant presence cherished by all who knew her.

Celeste attended Camelback High School, where she began to shape a life full of love and care for others. Her career was a testament to her nurturing spirit, having worked as a licensed massage therapist, caregiver, and concert security/stage hand. Celeste's professional path reflected her passion for helping others and her love for music and community events.

Her personality was a dynamic mix of loving, caring, and high-spirited traits, coupled with a unique gothic flair. Celeste was proudly family-oriented, always ensuring that her children and grandchildren felt her immense love and support. Her hobbies included camping, attending concerts, and participating in various gothic and fetish events, which showed her ability to embrace life with enthusiasm and openness.

Celeste is survived by her loving parents, Ricardo and Sandra Barrera; siblings, Anna Cota Dodge, Ricardo "Rocky," Alejandro, and Dolores Barrera; her children, Analinda and William Augustine; and her grandchildren, Giovanni, Jonathan, and Aliyah. She was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Augustine.

Funeral services will be held on September 20, 2024, from 10 am to 12 pm at Abel Funeral Service, located at 1627 N 51st Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85035. The Abel Funeral Home of Phoenix, Arizona, is assisting the family during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been set up to honor Celeste's memory and support her family. Contributions to this fund will help continue her legacy of caring and support for her loved ones.

Celeste's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, care, and vibrant community involvement. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
