Celso Romero Obituary
He immigrated to the US and settled in Compton, CA before moving his family to Fresno. Moving his family to Fresno meant getting the boys out of Compton, a city near LA known for gangs at the time. Celso wanted a better life for his family and knew that Fresno would offer that. In Fresno, Celso was employed with McCall's Nurseries for more than 30 years until his retirement two years ago. One of his passions was farming. He and his brother Erasmo spent countless hours working the lands in and around Fresno. They harvested, sugar canes, tomatillos, peppers, corn and other vegetables. He truly enjoyed farming and was
looking forward to re-joining his brother for the upcoming crop.
Celso also enjoyed traveling to Jalpa to visit a few times a year! His favorite time to visit Jalpa was in December, where he would meet up with other relatives, family and friends to celebrate Christmas and the New Year as well as his birthday.
He was married to Evangelina for 51 years with whom he raised 8 children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo and Esther Romero and a son, Mario Romero.
Celso is survived by his wife, Evangelina; son, Victor and his wife Lupe; son, Jose Luis and his wife Lety; son, Jesus; son, Rodrigo and his wife China; son, Celso Jr and his wife Flor; daughter, Rosa; daughter, Griselda and 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several God children.
Arrangements under the direction of Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Fresno, CA.

May the all mighty God fill your hearts with peace and comfort knowing he's in control at all times, even when it's too much for us here on earth. I know things will never be the same but that love your father had for his family is displayed through his children and their families. I hope in the days to come you can all remember all the good times you shared with your father and all the love he gave you throughout the years. He is not gone. To all the Romero family,
Please know I keep you all in prayer and will continue to do so. My heart aches for all of you. I pledge my continued support as we journey through our futures together. Please accept my gratitude for sharing your husband, dad, grandpa with me.
To my dear father in law Don Celso,
I am deeply saddened by your passing, but I will rejoice in all the happy memories you left us as there were many. It was such a blessing to have had you in my life. Your teachings, guidance, and values will live on within me as well as in my son, husband, and all those you have influenced. I am very honored to be your daughter in law and privileged to be a Romero. I knew you longer than I knew my own father and I am very grateful that you treated me like a daughter. Indeed you are enjoying heaven along side your son Mario, your parents, and several other loved ones, including my dad. Rest in peace.
