Dear Maureen, Monica and Catherine,
I heard only yesterday that Chad had passed away suddenly.
I was shocked and could not believe it to be true.
Chad was so full of life, and so in love with you, Maureen, as if he had snatched an angel for his very own.
Monica and Catherine, I do not have to tell you how much your Dad loved you and how proud he is of you. He is probably bragging about you in heaven as we speak.
I can only imagine the depth of your grief.
Trust that those of us who know you and your family will be keeping you and Chad in our thoughts and prayers and may this ease your sorrow.
May the Lord Bless You and Keep You in His Heart.

Dear Maureen, Monica and Catherine,
I heard today that Chad had passed away suddenly. I was shocked and saddened and certain that there must be some mistake.
I remember Chad as being so full of life, so in love with you, Maureen, like he had snatched an angel for his very own.
Monica and Catherine, I don't have to tell you how very proud he was to be your Dad. He is undoubtedly bragging about you in heaven, as we speak.
I can only imagine the depth of your grief. Know that the people that love and care about you and about Chad will be trying to lighten your burden with heartfelt prayers.
May God Bless You and Keep You in His Heart,
love Dorothy and John DeCesare and family

Knowing Prof. Chad and being a part of his academic life is an honour for me. His absence will always be felt and the void that is created can never be filled. We have to keep moving with his fond memories in our hearts and with the hope that we will again meet him, up there, some fine day. He was such a great mentor. I was there for the viewing ceremony but I will never want to remember him the way I saw him there. That was not him. What I will always remember of him is his big smile, never ending energy, enthusiasm and passion towards work.

He always used to encourage me so much, boost my energy to do good work. It’s a great loss for me and to all of us.

Whenever I see his room, I feel that he is still in there and working. He will always be the first person with whom I started my career. He will always be remembered and missed.

Dear Maureen, Monica and Catherine, we are all with you in this time of extreme pain and loss and will always be there. God has a master plan for all of us and let’s have faith in him and his doings.

God Bless!!

Dear Maureen
I knew Chad through my work in the pulp industry, and through the Pacwest Meeting which Chad and his students always supported. He was a great colleague; professional, helpful, and always with a positive attitude towards life. He was also a friend, and will be sorely missed.

Maureen,

I was surprised and saddened to hear of Chad's death. He was a wonderful friend and a brilliant researcher. Whenever I met him, particularly when travelling, his family was always foremost in his mind.

My deepest sympathies to Chad's family. Although I've primarily known Chad professionally, I feel that he always interacted as a friend first. He will be missed by many.

Chad was a great mentor for me in my academic life. He supervised my Masters degree work in the mid 1990's, and he was so supportive of my PhD work 13 years later. You will be fondly remembered and profoundly missed. Deepest sympathies to his family.

Maureen,
I have known Chad for close to 15 years through his association with CPPA and PAPTAC and the various committees he was most active on, but mostly through the Bleaching and Recycling courses we used to offer every other year where Chad played key roles (as Course Coordinator, Speaker, etc.) . I often had reason to consult him on these subjects and he was always so willing to help out. And when on-site he was always professional yet down-to-earth and fun to be with. I remember him always speaking so fondly of you and the girls.

I saw and spoke to Chad just two weeks ago at Annual Meeting, so I was shocked and saddened at learning of his passing; I can well appreciate how devastated you must be feeling at his loss. He will be much missed by all who knew him.

There are no words any of us can write to take away your grief, but perhaps you can draw some comfort from the knowledge that death is not an end, just a journey to a different place, albeit one we cannot see through the confines of this place -- but it is there nonetheless, and faith will lead you to one day be reunited with him and other loved ones. Until then, he will live on in your hearts and in your memories and in those of all his friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls at this difficult time.

Godspeed Chad!

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Chad's passing. I knew Chad professionally through his work at Paprican when I worked at MacMillan Bloedel Research. Chad was always highly respected for his professionalism and technical expertise. He will be much missed. My most sincere condolences to his family.
