Chad Palmer Obituary

Chad N. Palmer, 34, of Arizona and Montana, formerly of Blairsville, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born April 25, 1974 at Latrobe, a son of Jeffrey L. Palmer and Brenda Bernard Palmer Rovison. Chad enjoyed traveling the world, surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking, mountain climbing and nature in general. He was a 1992 graduate of Blairsville High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, earning a bachelor?s degree in philosophy. He worked for the U.S. Forestry Service as a park ranger and forest fire fighter working in parks in Arizona and Montana. Survivors include his mother, Brenda Bernard Palmer Rovison and husband John, Blairsville; sisters Natalee C. Palmer, Berlin, Md., and Lindsey M. Meola, Indiana; step-brother Jared T. Rovison, Blairsville; maternal grandmother Betty Hoe and husband Jack, Blairsville; maternal grandfather Daniel Bernard, Brenizer; paternal grandparents Lillian and Walter Sulkosky, Blairsville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Chad was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey L. Palmer in 1978, and a cousin, Andrea Resslar, in 2002. In keeping with Chad?s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held in the Bear Tooth Mountains, Montana, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for support to some of Chad?s favorite charities, c/o Brenda Rovison, 2 Turner Dr., Blairsville, Pa. 15717. James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville, handled the arrangements.
