I am so sorry for your loss. I went to High Point with Chad and graduated from high school sitting right beside of him. He was such a good friend to me growing up and I will miss him. He taught my daughter to play the guitar and was always as patient as he was kind. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Chad's life should serve as an inspiration to us all. Although his time with us was brief, his impact in our lives was great. The lives he touched and inspired musically will live on for many generations to come. Who among us cannot say that they were acquainted with, taught by or inspired by Chad in some way. His life is a true example of someone dedicated to "Pay It Forward". I was one such person touched by his life. He will be missed.

Mrs. Stephenson, I just now found out about Chad. Had I known I would have been among the many who came to pay my respects to you and your family. Chad was my first guitar teacher. I had played for several years when I began my lessons, but learned very quickly from Chad that I still had alot to learn. Chad always greeted me with a big smile, and I admired his devotion to both his music and his students. He suggested one of his students attend a small "slow jam" that I attended and she became a good friend to us 4 regulars. In fact the 5 of us even started our first little band together. I saw Chad occassionally at Morrells and in "music circles" thru the years and he continued to greet me with that wonderful big smile! He will be greatly missed, but his personal and music lagecy to his students, family, and friends will not be forgotten. I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers.

It is never easy when we loose a friend or loved one unexpectedly, and even harder to understand when it is someone so young. I have a lot of found memories of Chad, he was a great friend from the time we began elementary school together. The thing I remember most is his smile, always huge, happy, and infectious! Sometimes in life you meet people who will impact your life for the better. Chad Stephenson was one of those guys to me. One of the ways that Chad impacted me was through his gift of expressing himself. Music just happened to be one of the avenues in which he did so. Whenever Chad would choose to express himself, he would do so in honesty. He opened himself up and left nothing hidden when he chose to do so. I think the main reason I enjoyed not just his music, but him himself, was because of this. It takes great courage in today's hyper critical world to honestly share your heart, thoughts, and talents knowing folks are gonna try to tear you down. Chad ignored the fear and took up his ''slingshot" and put that Goliath in his grave. It's not the notes or words Chad played and sang that impacted me, but how honestly he played them. Just by being himself, he challenged to take a long hard look at myself and why I do what I do. Even though he was, Chad never set out to be a guitar hero. He just happened to be one by being himself. But Chad was more than just a musician. Chad was one who was a friend to all, and to some more than a friend.......a brother. No words could ever express how much Chad blessed me in my life as a whole. Trying to do so now feels vain, but because of his impact on me and how thankful I am that God put this man in my life to make it better I can't keep from trying. His impact on my life will continue until I take my last breath, and I'm sure alot of others also. Chad's life was like a song that stays in your mind like ''peanut butter on the brain" that you find yourself singing even when the music isn't playing. Now that the song may never ''play" again, that ''song" will always be in my heart impacting me to become a better man. God Bless you Chad Stephenson, I will truly miss you...........

It was our great pleasure and honour to get to know, and share a stage with Chad during a show he did at Theatre Bristol. He touched our lives forever with his smile, and the memory of the gift of music, and happiness that he shared with us, and so many others will light our memories, and hearts, forever. His life was truly a symphony, a true masterpiece, a work of art... and all of us who knew him are the more blessed for it.
Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with his family.. and with all of us who are coming together in mourning his loss.

Chad, I loved you man. You were a brother to me. You always had the best smile, seemed happy, and no matter what the situation was you remained calm. The last time I saw Chad we were driving side by side on the interstate. When Chad noticed me he waved a peace sign. You were a great musician, and were the first to teach me Beatles songs on piano.
