Chad T. Wold, 50, of Fargo, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at his home. Chad Thomas Wold was born June 7, 1965 to Tom and Bonnie Wold of Walcott, ND. He lived on the family farm north of Colfax and attended Richland High School. Following high school, he spent two summers custom combining with R&L Harvesting and the summer of 1986 in Denmark on an agricultural exchange program. Chad graduated from NDSU with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and then went onto Colorado State University obtaining a Master of Science in Environmental Health. He worked as a Teaching Assistant at Colorado State University, and an Industrial Hygienist Intern at Delhi Gas Pipeline in Dallas. Chad then moved back to the Fargo area and was employed first as the manager of the Becker County Minnesota Environmental Services Department, then as the Industrial Hygiene Technician at HTI Consultants in Fargo, later the Industrial Hygienist at MeritCare Occupational Health and for the past twenty years as the Director of Healthcare Environmental Services at Sanford in Fargo. Chad married Kathy Hill from Arthur, ND and they had a son, Ethan who was the joy of Chad's life. His favorite past time activity was attending Ethan's sporting events and school activities. Chad also coached Ethan and his friends for FM Athletics Football and Babe Ruth Baseball. He loved the outdoors spending time biking, boating and fishing. Chad was an extremely giving and caring person. He gave to and cared for others in countless ways by volunteering at the Boy Scouts of America, Big Brother/Sister Program, Rape and Abuse Crisis Center and Olivet Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Oscar and Leone Wold; maternal grandfather: Chester Grenier; and father-in-law: Gale Hill. Chad is survived by his wife, Kathy and son, Ethan of Fargo; parents: Tom and Bonnie Wold of Walcott, ND; brother: Lynn (fiancé) Beth Sitzmann of Lemars, IA and mother-in-law: Edvina Hill of Arthur, ND; Linda and David Hove of Fargo, ND, Jim and Suzie Hill of Arthur, ND; many nieces and nephews; Chad's maternal grandmother: Norma Grenier of Wahpeton, ND Celebration of Life: 2:00 p.m., Monday, Olivet Lutheran Church, 1330 University Dr. S. in Fargo. My three sons will forever miss their Uncle Chad. He was a wonderful role model who enjoyed spending time with them and making plans to do things together with their cousin Ethan. They have made so many wonderful memories together. Our hearts break for Kathy and Ethan, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, we are praying that you all find comfort during this difficult time and grieve with you and the rest of the family and dear friends. I always enjoyed seeing Chad's smiling face at various sporting events. Chad also stepped in and helped me coach a little Babe Ruth Baseball when the boys were younger. Great memories. Our condolences to Kathy and Ethan as well as extended family. Chad will be missed.
