It was an honor and pleasure to be one of Dr. Kim's colleagues from 1966 to 1992. He was a good and dedicated teacher. He was helpful always. He lived a full anf fruitful life. I send my deepest sympathy to Chang's family and friends. Titus Mathews.

There are few if any professors students encounter during their university careers who they know for almost all of their lives. Being best friends with Dr. Kim's daughter, Irene, I held that honor. Dr. Kim was not only my Physics professor but also our Dad during our trips to stores, after school ping pong games, and weekend sleep overs. You are truly a wonderful, wonderful man Dr. Kim and will you be so missed until we all meet again. My heartfelt prayers, love and hugs Mrs. Kim, Irene, Diana and Kathy.... with love always, Kari xoxox.

It was a pleasure to have Chang as a colleague for some 27 years. Quiet and thoughtful, he contributed to many aspects of the physics department. A dedicated but humble teacher who was also an excellent researcher in a field that was undergoing a transition from small to large scale facilities. He was respected by all who came in contact with him. I wish to extend my sympathy to his family.

It was my pleasure and good fortune to have Chang as a colleague for the period of his stay at UofC. His quiet thoughtful approach to problems and his interest in his students characterized his contribution to our department. A careful researcher in a difficult field during its transition from small to very large scale research facilities, Chang managed to do credible work. A gentleman and scholar, he will be well remembered by his colleagues.

Dr. Kim was one of my teachers in the 1960s when I was an Honours Physics student. I fondly remember his knowledge and especially his friendliness and humanity. He was a wonderful human being. May his memory be a blessing.

I remember well the appointment of Chang to the department. He became a quiet but sincere contributor to the teaching side of the team, and his contribution to the cosmic ray unit. As department head I found him a helpful colleague. I join with those expressing their sympathy with the family i their loss.

Chang was a fine colleague at the University of Calgary and was highly regarded both in the U.S. and Canada, and, as I learned when I traveled there in 1990, in Korea as well. I remember him not only as a capable researcher and administrator but as a generous spirit.

As one of its earliest members, Dr. Kim joined, and began contributing to, the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Calgary 8 months before the institution achieved its independent status. As the current Head of Department, I would like to express our appreciation for his many contributions to the birth and maturation of our unit in his 27 years as a faculty member, and our deepest condolences to his family and friends on his passing.
