I knew Chantal for a long time and was very fond of her. I was aware that she was ill but not that she was dying, and it is difficult to accept that she has gone. This is especially so as she continued to come to her art classes until the end despite her illness. She was non-judgemental, accepting of everyone and their individual personal qualities and idiosyncrasies - a rare quality. She was a very special person and loved by everyone who knew her, for her openess, enthusiasm. love of painting and the energy and spirit with which she lived her life.
