Charlene "Charli" Woods Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 15, 2024.
Charlene Davis Woods passed away peacefully on the morning of May 13, 2024, at her home in Houston, Texas.

Charli was born on October 22, 1948, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to James Kelly Davis and Thelma Garrett Davis.

From a young age, she had a passion for photography and modeling. She graduated from Memorial High School in 1967 and later embarked on a journey with the hippie movement, exploring the world for several years with the production of Stomp. Upon her return to the United States, she dedicated almost two decades to sales and accounting at Dorsey's Auto and Trim Shop.

In 1994, Charli reunited with her former flame, Bob Woods, and they were married. Over the next thirty years, they found joy in each other's company, shared a love for their cherished animals, and bonded over cooking, gambling, and sports. Affectionately known as Aunt Charli, she possessed an incredible green thumb and passion for gardening. She had an amazing talent for crocheting, often gifting handmade hats or scarves to those she met. Her warm spirit and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Charli is survived by her loving husband, Bob Woods; her brother Jim Davis; sister Vicki Davis Ruman (Bob); nieces, Kelly Davis Johnson (JC) and Robin Ruman Conner (Ben); along with six grandnieces and grandnephews: Benjamin Conner, Jake Conner, Kate Conner, Coleman Conner, Ryan Johnson, and Alice Johnson. She is also survived by numerous other cherished extended family members and friends.

A private family service to honor Charli's memory will be held at a later date.
