Scottsdale - Charlene Marice O'Berry, devout catholic and beloved mother, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025 in Glendale, AZ, with her family by her side. She was one month away from her 89th birthday.

Charlene was born on July 18, 1936 to Morris D. Bussche and Alice Gertrude (Wilson), in Lansing, MI. She grew up in Lansing and completed high school at Resurrection in 1954, excelling in academics, attendance and christian doctrine, and participating in numerous school and class activities. She continued her education at the Mercy School of Nursing of Detroit, and became a Registered Nurse in 1957. She married airman Carl G. O'Berry in 1958, thereby becoming a U.S. Air Force wife and the perfect career partner for Carl, who retired as Deputy Chief of Staff for Command, Control, Communications and Computers, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, after almost 39 years of military service. They raised five children while moving to assignments all over the U.S., and overseas to Japan and Europe. She continued her nursing career in several states along the way. After they retired, she and Carl settled permanently in Scottsdale, AZ.

Charlene was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother Michael, and sister Delores Delaney (Fred). Surviving are her sister Josephine Holmes (Tom); children Brian (Belinda), Eileen, Kevin (Linda), Bradley, and Kathleen Loch (Frank); six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
