Charlene Waldon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 26, 2025.
Char Waldon, maiden name Charlene Deinhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 18, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on April 27, 1945, in Fairmont, Minnesota, to Mary and Elmer Deinhart, Char left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Char's life journey took her through several communities, including Fairmont, MN; Detroit Lakes, MN; Devil's Lake, ND; Chaska, MN; and Sterling MA. In all of these places, she was known for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Char's love for her family was unwavering. She is survived by her children, James Blanchard (wife Susan), Jack Blanchard (wife Jennie), and Jodi Primeau (husband Jay), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Garrett, Hannah, Isabelle, Jenna, Bailey, Ben, and Matt. All of them hold fond memories of her generosity, humor, and boundless encouragement.

Char had a deep passion for life's simple joys. Her childhood on the farm taught her lifelong skills with gardening, and cooking, which she shared with family and friends over the years. She adored dogs, and delighted in the beauty of birds. Ever a loyal fan, she could often be found cheering for her beloved Minnesota professional sports teams, no matter the season.

Char's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and she will be remembered as a shining example of love, resilience, and dedication to family. Her life was a celebration of the values she held dear, and her memory will forever be cherished.

A private family service will be held this summer to honor Char's life. In lieu of sending flowers, please plant one in her honor in your garden.

We are so sorry for your loss. Char was a true friend over the 20 years we've known each other. We shared so many life events, from the births of grandkids, weddings, deaths, a move across the country; laughed, cried, shared meals, went on road trips, attended sporting events from U of M women's basketball to grandons' hockey games, rides to airport, dog sitting Bonnie and Clyde, visits at her new home in Sterling; just watching t.v. together. Char was just a constant in my life, a port in a storm and a favorite person to just hang out with and enjoy each other's company. She could be stubborn, opinionated and, most often when we disagreed about something, it would turn out she was right! She was a loyal friend, always checking in by phone. I could go on and on....her memory lives on in my heart.

How very lucky we were to have you as part of our family! we are so grateful for your kindness, love, laughter, and the world´s best cheesecake! We were so blest to have you live out here these last few years. From the holiday gatherings, to a simple solo stove fire in the driveway. We will always be grateful you were here. Rest in peace Char, and thank you for all you gave to us

I might have to bake a cake with Baileys in her honor! Aunt Charlene had good recipes. Love to my cousins, their spouses, and kids.
