Charlotte, North Carolina - CHARLOTTE - Charles Michael Barrett of Charlotte died Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Union County Hospice.
A native of Sacramento, California, Mr. Barrett, LTC (USMC, Ret.) was born to Cecil Charles Barrett and Nonie Barrett on December 16, 1943.
He retired from the US Marine Corps where he was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and Purple Heart.
He was one of the few Mustangers left in the Corp, spending time in the Enlisted Ranks and as a Commissioned Officer. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and Desert Storm and Desert Shield wars.
He enjoyed traveling and hanging out with his family.
Mr. Barrett is survived by his son Michael Barrett and his wife Anne Barrett of Lyman, SC; his sons Kevin and Mark Barrett of Charlotte, NC; his granddaughters Brittany and Kayla Barrett and great-grandson Ian Barrett.
