July 7, 1939 - September 24, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Ray, 73, passed away Sept. 24, 2012. He was born July 7, 1939 in Detroit, MI to W.C. "Jack" & H. Eunice Bond. Ray began his baseball career at Capitol Hill HS where he was an All State catcher. After graduation, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from OK State Univ. where he also played baseball. Ray was an All American Baseball player in 1961. He was inducted along with his teammates into the OSU Athletics Hall of Honor in 1999 for winning the NCAA College World Series in 1959. In 1961, Ray signed with the St. Louis Cardinals organization where he played 2 years. Preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, C. David Bond & wife, Doreen of Slidell, LA; his daughter, Debby Bond Dost & husband, Bill of Edmond, OK; brothers, Carl Bond & wife, Pat and Neil Bond & wife, Elaine, all of Newcastle, OK; sister, Judy Bond of Newcastle, OK; 6 grandchildren, Jack Bond, Steven Bond, Mallory Dost, Patrick Bachemin. Christina Bachemin & Daniel Bachemin; numerous loving family & friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The American Lung Assoc., 1010 E. 8th St., Tulsa, OK 74120.
