Charles Edward Brown, "Monk" or "Charlie", 80, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on April 14, 2016 of Natural Causes.
Charles was born in Douglas, GA on October 23, 1935. He only had a 6th grade education, but he had a PhD in life. He was married to Louise on October 25, 1957 and they were happily wed for 49 years.
Charles was the owner and operator of Charles Brown Roofing for over 45 years, until he retired in 2009, when he dissolved the company. He loved to fish and spent time with his family.
He is survived by his 4 daughters; Cheryl ( Terry) Long, Angela (Joe) Huff, Mary Jane Brown, and Cynthia (Dusty) Gerhard; 9 grandchildren; Chris Brown, Chad (April) Brown, Sabrina (Steven) Riner, Charlie (Holly) Brown, Nicole (Joel) Renzoni, Leon (Julie) Gerhard, Robert (Alysia) Brown, John Walker III, Rhonda (Michael) Bradshaw; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Willie Brown and Freddie Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Brown; daughter, Viola Jean Brown; parents, John and Clora Brown; granddaughter, Jessica Diane Gerhard; numerous sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
