One Year Ago Charles Jeffrey Burns entered the gates of Glory after hearing His Savior call his name around 2:40am on January 3rd. Jeff was the only son of the late Charles Laxton Burns and Ellen Lorene Burns. Jeff grew up in Easley, SC and is a graduate of Furman University. Jeff's career was in the banking industry but he was also an author of two books in the Foggy Point Light Trilogy series. (Volume One: Foggy Point Light Volume Two: Ripples: Return To Foggy Point Light) He was still in the process of writing Volume Three: Project Vortex at the time of his death. Jeff loved to travel with his family and had a varied interest of hobbies which included photography and Ham Radio. He had even built his own working radio station when he was a teenager. In his later years Jeff also served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the church choir and also was a part of the media team at UHBC. He is survived by his wife Julia Medlin Burns of whom they were married for 32 years, a son Thomas Jeffrey Burns and a maternal aunt Avis Sears Gibbs. Funeral services were held on January 11th 2022 preceded by an hour of visitation and officiated by the Revered Michael Toney of University Hills Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Carolina Memorial Park of Harrisburg, NC.
