Charles F. Bush

Charles F. Bush, 83, a guest with his wife at Whitehall Manor, formerly of Main Street, Macungie, passed away peacefully in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., on Tuesday April 1, 2008.
He was the husband of Frieda M. (Strobel) Fedok Bush for 21 wonderful years, and the Late Marion A. (Kratzer) Bush, who died April 13, 1984.
Born on a farm in East Texas, he was a son of the Late Robert D. and Clara A. (Gower) Bush.
He attended Allentown High School then faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Sgt. with the 840th Gunnery Battalion Anti-aircraft Division in the Pacific Theatre.
He was a member of St. Peter's Union Church, Macungie, and enjoyed his memberships in the Golden Agers of St. Elizabeth's Church, Whitehall, and serving as a past Vice President of the Trexlertown Senior Citizens. He was a regular bowler at the Town and Country Lanes in Bethlehem, loved to travel and cook great meals, along with creating beautiful woodworking heirlooms for his family.
Charles retired from Air Products and Chemicals in 1986 after many years as a professional truck driver. Earlier in life he worked for Grammes and Sons Plating, and the Allentown State Hospital after the War.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Rosemary E. Kromer of Fullerton; sons, Barry Bush, Dr. Frederick G. Fedok of Harrisburg, and James A. Fedok and wife, Donna (Snyder) of Fogelsville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Eric, Christine, Alexander, Jason, Brian and Bradley. He was predeceased by his first wife, a daughter, Carol Bush in 2006, granddaughter, Adrienne Z. Fedok in 2001, sisters, Anna Laubach and Viola Clauser, along with brothers, Roy and Howard Bush.
His services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2008 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Boulevard, Whitehall, located 1 block south of the Fullerton Avenue Exit of Route 22, with The Rev. Jerel W. Gade officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Macungie, aside of Marion and Carol.
