Charles Carter Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 22, 2024.
Leslie "Charles" Carter, known affectionately as Charlie, passed away on July 20, 2024 at the age of 55 at his home in Foreman, Arkansas. He was a loving father, brother, son, nephew, cousin and partner.
He was born on May 6, 1969 in Fremont, Nebraska and moved to Independence, Missouri when he was two years old. There he attended Raytown schools until his sophomore year when the family moved to Mesa, Arizona where he graduated from Mesa High School. After high school, Charles began working for AT&T where he became a union steward and did much traveling for it. From there he transitioned to a remote position as a telecommunications engineer and was working for Ironton Telephone Company. This allowed him to be able to move to Foreman to be close to his parents.
Charlie loved being outdoors and he was always ready, willing and able to help his neighbors and family members out when needed. Charlie was quite handy and was in the process of remodeling his home as a DIY project. When he wasn't working, helping someone out or remodeling, he was an avid reader.
Charles is survived by his father, Leslie Carter of Foreman, AR, his daughter, Kaitlin Carter of Georgia, his sister, Tabetha Carter of Whitewright, TX, his brother, Robert Carter of Foreman, AR, his nieces, Kady and Kassidy Snow of Whitewright, TX and his beloved Stephanie Chapman of Foreman, AR as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Carter.
Charlie will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2024 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at Madden Funeral Home Chapel located at 306 Schuman Street, Foreman, Arkansas 71836. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:00 at Madden Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers are welcomed, but cannot be received at the funeral home until Friday.

To Charles´ family and friends, my deepest sincere condolences on his passing, he will be sorely missed. I have worked closely with Charles since his coming to Ironton Telephone, and we became friends. We shared knowledge and banter, daily work chat and daily life quips, agreements and disagreements, and always respected each other´s opinions. He was quick-witted, sometimes long winded which I´d chide him about, but he was always eager to assist in departing his vast knowledge of the subject at hand and helping others. He was just as dedicated in his personal life striving to achieve the plans he made for the future. Charles touched many lives and to all that knew him; those whose memories live in our hearts are never gone. God Bless.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Charles for many years at Info/KGB/Conduit. Charles was a wealth of knowledge and was a master at digging deep into complex issues. We haven't worked together for many years now but I have still find myself sometimes thinking "I wish Charles could look at this one.." I also enjoyed our many chats about rural life and whatever project we were up to at the moment. I'm happy that we were able to catch up when he was last in Pennsylvania. My thoughts go out to his family.

I started at Ironton Telephone 3 years ago and i had little to no experience in the phone sector. Since Day 1 Charles was always helpful and a wealth of knowledge for anything that needed an explanation. The past year or more we grew much close and i worked much closer with him on issues. He loved to dive deep into a problem and analyze it. We spent hours on teams calls trying to figure things out and joking with each other. I was always welcomed by a "Greetings!" lol i loved when he did that. He in the past year became sort of a mentor to me and was teaching me a lot in the process. I will miss his witty banter and corny jokes. I will especially miss our daily talks and the knowledge that he was always wanting to share with me. I can remember a conversation we had about a month or two ago about my future and how he wanted to see me succeed. He wanted to pass down all the things he knew so that i could be a more intricate part of the backbone alongside Cindy and him. I am forever grateful for the encouragement and patience that he showed with me. To have someone in your corner who wants you to succeed meant a lot to me. I will miss you Charles and that goofy smile of yours. I hope you are up in heaven making everyone laugh with your dad jokes. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed.

All my love,

I have had the honor of working with Charles and the opportunity to enjoy knowing him as a friend. I first met Charles in a phone conversation assisting me with a work issue. Since that call we spoke occasionally and one day I was informed that Charles would be interested in working with us at Ironton Telephone in PA. We welcomed him and he had proven to be a huge asset to our operation. More importantly is what he brought to the table as a person. Always willing to help anyone, to go the distance with any project and always with a smile or a comment or 2 to help ease any concerns. Truly a good heart, a good man and I was blessed to know him and the positivity he generated with our co-workers and everyone he met. My Wife and I will miss breaking bread with him during his visits to Pennsylvania. Our prayers to Charles's family and loved ones. God Bless.
