Chuck Graves
Chuck Graves, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023, in
Las Vegas, NV, at the age of 87. Born on September 12, 1936, in Summerville, Mass, Chuck was the epitome of integrity, honesty, compassion, and love.
Chuck was a family man through and through, devoting his time and energy to his wife, Sandra, and their three boys, Kevin, William, and Jeffrey Graves. His love for Sandra knew no bounds, as he constantly showered her with affection and provided her with everything she needed. Chuck's kindness and warmth touched the hearts of everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife and sons, Chuck is survived by his grandchildren, Connor, Ruby, Danielle, Korin, and Simon Graves, as well as his daughter-in-law, Michelle, and his sister, Jan Hassett. He also leaves behind his cherished friends, Karen and Fred Hannah, Dave Cook and Tammy Brinck. Chuck was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Graves, and his beloved wife, Sandra Graves. He was also preceded by Sandra's sisters, Gail Tucker and Audrey Lesko, as well as his dear friends, Helen Cook, and Skip and Ron Mason ,Russ and Margarette geginheimer Frank and Dawn Clark
Chuck's dedication to his country was evident in his military service. He proudly served in the Army from August 1, 1955, to July 30, 1961. Chuck was a member of the esteemed Third Armored Division Spearhead and the 57th Infantry Battalion. He excelled in his military career, graduating with honors from the NCO Academy and earning the Good Conduct Medal. Chuck served as a Sergeant First Class in the Army, leaving a lasting impact on the Third Armored Division (SPEARHEAD) and the 57th AAA Battalion.
After his military service, Chuck embarked on a successful career in the refrigeration and heating business. He owned companies like Sentry A/C and Heating, but his true passion lay in teaching. For over 27 years, Chuck dedicated his time to Education Dynamics Institute, where he taught countless students his trade. He freely shared his knowledge, helping many individuals succeed in their careers. Chuck's love for teaching was unparalleled, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those eager to learn.
Chuck found solace and strength in his faith as a devoted Christian and follower of Christ our Lord. He attended various Christian churches throughout his life, with a particular fondness for Baptist congregations.
In his leisure time, Chuck enjoyed indulging in his hobbies. He spent countless hours building beautiful creations like bookcases and even a new family room for his wife and boys. Chuck also cherished moments spent with his wife and children, and he was a pretty good bowler
A celebration of Chuck's life will be announced on or before November 15th. He will be laid to rest on November 15th at 12:40 pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Las Vegas Nevada, 89005.
In honor of Chuck's generous spirit, contributions can be made to the Children's
Cancer Society, as he tragically lost his eldest son to this disease. Chuck also supported the Indian Children's Fund, as he believed in helping children succeed in life.
The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Palms Memorial located at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV, 89005.
Chuck Graves will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a doting grandfather, and a cherished friend. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
