Resident of Rossmoor
Charles (Chuck) Coburn passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Born in Alameda, California to parents Charles and Arlene Coburn, Chuck called the Bay Area home for his entire life, with the last fifteen years a resident of Rossmoor. Chuck is survived by his sister Carolyn Holder, children Mike and Lori from his first wife Lynne Coburn, and was Bumpa for his four grandchildren and great grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his spiritual life partner Shirley and blessed in the last several years with the love and companionship of his best friend Marlene Seffern and their dog Buddy.
Chuck was a graduate of San Jose State University in 1962 and joined the family business, which constructed office buildings, shopping centers, and industrial complexes in the Bay Area for over thirty years. In 1989, and with a successful career, he retired and devoted his life to the spiritual and metaphysical areas. Together with Shirley, they traveled extensively, studied and reported healings, ghostly activity and other supernatural phenomenon with shamans indigenous to Brazil, Ecuador, Egypt, Mexico, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal and numerous Native American cultures in the United States. Chuck authored three books and appeared on over sixty radio and TV appearances, including his own show, Personal Pathways, which aired in the San Francisco Bay Area, all of which described his self-discovery and spiritual growth. Academically, he was a regular presenter at the International Conference for the Association for the Study of Dreams, has lectured at the University of California in Santa Cruz, Sacramento State University, University of Virginia, JFK University, Saint Mary's College, and many other scholastic venues.
Chuck will always be remembered by family and friends for his smile, storytelling, holiday parties, humor, golf adventures, and most of all, his genuine love for life. He enriched and touched the lives of so many and he will be missed but never forgotten.

Charles is a beautiful soul who guided me in a critical time. I´m sorry he is not physically here because I wanted to visit him again now at another window in time. My blessings to you all and his spiritual wife he was blessed with. Ginny Mangrum
