Dear Donna and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Charlie. Unfortunately I was out of the country during the viewing and funeral. I especially feel terrible since Charlie was the one person who never missed a viewing and was always there to comfort others. I have a lot of wonderful memories of fun times with Charlie. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

It has been many years since I have seen Charlie but there isn't a memory about my years at St Wendelins that doesn't include him ! He was always one of the nicest guys and everyone admired his kindness and his wit. Even as eighth graders we knew he would be a successful person ! God bless all of you !

Dear Donna and Family
I just came home from work and Erin told me she received an e-mail from Jamie Hudzik that Charlie had died. I am so sorry to hear this. Charlie was a wonderful, soft spoken "gentle" man that I had the pleasure of knowing during my St. Gabriel years.I am so sorry to have missed his viewing and funeral. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I'm here for you Donna.

I was a classmate of Charlie's at St. Wendelin grade school through eighth grade.
He always stood out in my mind for his kindness, wit, humor, intelligence, and utmost respect for our teaching nuns and fellow classmates.
It's no surprise he achieved much in life, for he was truly a premier person.
I extend my deepest condolences to Charlie's entire family.

Dear Devlin Family:
Please accept my sympathies for your loss. I had the honor of working with Charlie at UPMC. His bottomless vault and usage of words really reminded me of how words can be transformed into a specific, direct expression of how one feels. Charlie will never be forgotten.

Devlin Family I am so sorry for the loss of Charlie. I worked at UPMC with Charlie. He always has his statement of the day "ginger peachy" He always has such a smile when talking about the wedding plans, baby, etc. He loved his family and showed such bravery during this difficult time

Sometimes the comments he sent me about my column in the PG were more clever than what I had written. I'm so sorry he's gone, and I'll miss his witty e-mails.

Donna and family. I worked with Charlie at UPMC. Charlie made Forbes Tower 9th floor a better place to be each day. He always had that upbeat spirit and when asked how he was doing, "ginger peachy" was the usual response, even when I knew he wasn't feeling his best. I am so saddened by his passing and will miss him deeply. I hope you find peace that his suffering is over now that he has been called to Heaven as one of the most loved and faithful servants of God.

I'm so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I met him at a NABE conference over 25 years ago and considered him a cherished friend. Charlie is one of the funniest individuals I've met. He always delivered his humor by somehow making fun of himself. He spoke with such pride about his family. I hope the memories of your time shared will carry you all through this difficult time.

To the Devlin family: I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Charlie through NABE. One fun memory: Charlie was celebrating a birthday while we were attending an annual conference in Washington D.C. Wife Donna had ordered a birthday cake and sent it over to the conference so we all celebrated the birthday with Charlie! A great loss to family and friends.

To the entire Devlin family please accept my condolences at the passing of a good man. I worked with Charlie at UPMC and always admired his devotion to his family and faith. Charlie was one of the first work friends to visit when my son passed away in September 2007 and I'll never forget loking up and seeing his smiling face and the warm embrace of comfort. Take peace in knowing that his struggle is over and he is in his Glory in God's Kingdom.
God Bless,
