My name is Mrs Ena Logan-Brown and I worked as PA to Ronnie after he poached me from The Savoy Hotel Business Manager 'way back in the early 'Swinging' Sixties. I hope to enlarge on this fascinating episode in my story "A CV of a Life"soon. I am now 78 and live in Dumfries Scotland. Have only recently had laptop and very sadly learned via Google that dear Ronnie had passed on. I have E-mail but not too good at accessing it yet.Quite easy locate me by writing me simply in Dumfries DG1 2LE. 5 August 2010.

I never got the chance to thank Ronnie for the "opportunity" he gave me in 1986 whilst at HSW. It did not seem it at the time but it turned out to be one of the best things that happened in my career. Thank you Ronnie and rest in peace.

I worked at LUI in Gracechurch Street in the 1980s when Minnie and Kate were schoolgirls and Charles was a baby. Ronnie attended the royal weddings of Charles & Diana and Andrew & Fergie and a photograph of the Queen and himself at a polo match was displayed in his office. Ronnie was the first person I knew to own a mobile telephone, I dreaded him calling the office on his way home to Cheyne Walk as the technology was wholly unreliable then and he would become frustrated with the loss of signal and my misunderstanding of his instructions through a crackling line! I preferred face-to-face contact where he was largely a jovial and humorous character.

I remember Ronnie striding through his Gracechurch Street office like a colossus. Underwriters respected him and the room fell silent when he walked through. Even though I was just a junior insurance broker at the time, I recognised that he had an indefinable and unique style.

Ronnie was a most generous man in every way. Generous with laughter
and in sharing good times. He gave the best hugs and had a naughty sense of humour. Superb taste and a real character. He is and will be missed. He was a great friend of Doug Hayward and all of us who worked with Doug liked him very very much.My condolences to Misty and the family he adored, his chest swelled with pride when he talked of them.
I remember him with such fondness.
